The text is written in a humanistic roman hand in brown ink, the rubric "Initium sancti euangelii secundum iohannem Gloria tibi domine" in gold ink. The text "In principio..." begins with an illuminated initial "I".
The miniature and border are drawn in tempera, colored inks and gold ink.
