The initial letter "D" is historiated, with St. Paul holding book and sword. There is a foliate part-border, in which is the figure of a Dominican nun praying.
The initial and border are drawn in tempera with gold leaf. These have been attributed to Pacino di Bonaguida: see Palladino.
The text is written in a large gothic rotunda hand, in black with red rubrics, with music on a red 4-line staff. There are 2 initial letters on the verso in red and blue with pen-work decoration.
