Fragments of a foliate border cropped from the Fitzwilliam Museum’s Murano Gradual cutting of the Dormition of the Virgin (Fitzwilliam accession number: Marlay cutting It. 18). The gradual was probably made for the Camaldolese monastery of San Michele, Murano. Dimensions: (1) 40 x 23 cm.; (2) 25 x 4 cm.; (3) 6 x 3 cm.; (4) 12 x 6 cm. Drawn in tempera with gold leaf. North Italian, probably from Venice. The cuttings are pasted to the mount and the versos are not visible. MS Typ 995. Houghton Library, Harvard University.
