BIOGRAPHY

Attorney and professor Linda J. Wharton was born in Camden, New Jersey, in 1955. She received a BA from Bryn Mawr College and a JD from Rutgers Law School. From 1989 to 1997, she served as the managing attorney at the Women's Law Project in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was co-lead counsel in Planned Parenthood v. Casey, a lawsuit that went to the Supreme Court in 1992 and reaffirmed the constitutionality of abortion. Wharton taught at Rutgers Law School and the University of Pennsylvania Law School and is currently an associate professor of political science at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.
