Most of the photographs in this collection are or will be digitized and available online.

BIOGRAPHY

Photographer Anna Winand worked as assistant to Cornell Capa, founding director of the International Center of Photography, from 1975 until his death in 2008. She remained with the ICP until 2012. Prior to joining the ICP, she assisted Wilfred Cartey on his book, Whispers from a Continent, and in 1968, she joined the Voice of the Children, a writing workshop in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn, New York, under the guidance of poet June Jordan and Terri Bush, a teacher at New York City Community College. Winand served as photographer for the project and her photographs were featured in a compilation of poems from the workshop, The Voice of the Children, published by Holt, Rinehart & Winston in 1970.
