Collection contains one daily journal written by Mariet White documenting her classes and leisure activities at Wheaton Female Seminary. The journal seems to be an assignment; in one entry White remarks that the school principal, Mrs. Metcalf, will be reading her entries. The entries mention her studies, including recitations, attending calisthenics classes, and school events such as a visit from the Board of Trustees. White also reflects upon her own academic progress and growth and is sometimes critical of herself. The diary also contains her thoughts about Sunday religious sermons and readings. In addition, White mentions local happenings and events, including the passing of the Norton Artillery and Foxboro music band, and visiting a panorama in Boston.
