HISTORY

Established in 1946 by public relations pioneers Edward L. and Doris Fleischman Bernays, the Edward L. Bernays Foundation has been concerned with social issues. In 1978 the foundation sponsored an essay competition on "A Practical Program to Achieve Economic Justice for Homemakers." The contest was co-sponsored by Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and was under the supervision of Professor Frank Genovese.

The Babson-Bernays Competition records were given to the Schlesinger Library by the Edward L. Bernays Foundation in October 1979 and by Edward L. Bernays in January 1981 and May 1986.
