Collection contains the baby books of Margaret Ralston Jarvis and her daughter Lucretia Jarvis Weed. Margaret Ralston Jarvis' baby book includes sections such as first outing, first creeping, first short clothes, and first Christmas, etc. Also includes a lock of hair (1913) and a few letters and notes such as a list of graduation presents for Peggy (Margaret Jarvis) and an undated note from Peggy to her mother. Lucretia Jarvis Weed's baby book includes information such as baby's weight and height, family tree, baby's first automobile trip, and baby's first interest in radio (baby's reaction). Also includes a description of her first day in kindergarten (1942); envelopes of locks of hair; a drawing made by Lucretia at age 2; handwritten weight and feeding notes; and photographs of Lucretia with her first nurse, her brother Peter, her father, mother, and grandmother. Additional materials include Lucretia's baptism record, congratulation telegrams and letters, a letter from her uncle at her first Christmas, drawings by her brother Peter, and a clipping of the birth announcement.

BIOGRAPHY

Margaret Ralston Jarvis was born on December 22, 1907, to William Jarvis and Edith Ralston Jarvis of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Lucretia Jarvis Weed was born May 24, 1937, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Frederick Redfield Weed and Margaret Ralston (Jarvis) Weed.
