BIOGRAPHY

The Bordentown School was founded in 1866, a publicly financed co-ed boarding school for African-Americans known for its adoption of many of the educational practices first developed at the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. In 1955, the school closed as a consequence of the Brown vs. Board of Education decision.
