Collection consists of sheet music for "The March of the Women," by Ethel Smyth; lyrics and music to "Reuben and Rachel" and other suffrage songs; notes on a speech entitled "War in the Light of Evolution" by George W. Nasmyth; membership slips from the Massachusetts Branch of the Woman's Peace Party; and correspondence from the League to Enforce Peace and the Woodrow Wilson Foundation.

BIOGRAPHY

Ellen Amelia Webster was born on September 25, 1863, to David Moor Webster and Ellen (Sawyer) Webster in Bridgewater, New Hampshire. Ellen Amelia Webster attended the Abbot Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, and the Garland Kindergarten Training School in Boston, Massachusetts. Ellen Amelia Webster operated a private school in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and was active in the suffragist movement. Ellen Amelia Webster died on January 14, 1965, in Plymouth, New Hampshire, after a fall.

The papers of Ellen A. Webster were transferred from the records of the League of Women Voters (Cambridge, Mass.) in 1977.
