Collection consists of a diary created by Virginia Slover. Diary entries describe Slover's daily life in high school and at home, while living in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with her aunt and uncle. Topics include visiting her mother and father during school vacations, homesickness, the South High School debate team, her social life, outings with Arthur Reum, attending church, chores, and letters received. The last entry reflects on the past year.

BIOGRAPHY

Virginia Slover was born on July 9, 1888, to Arthur Slover and Grace (Jackson) Slover in Gales Township, Minnesota. In 1905, Virginia Slover moved to the Minneapolis, Minnesota, area to live with an aunt and uncle, where she attended the South High School. Virginia Slover married Arthur Reum on September 8, 1908. The Reums had one child: Virginia "Vee" Reum (1909-1956). Virginia Slover Reum died on December 7, 1977, in Monterey, California.

The diary of Virginia Slover was given to the Schlesinger Library by E.C. Davis in 1989.
