The collection consists of Mrs. E.B. Ward's handwritten recipe book containing recipes for soups (including calf's head soup); vegetables; fish; chicken; ham; preserves and pickles (including the amounts of various spices needed to pickle 200 cucumbers); breads; cakes; puddings; pies; cookies, and candy. The recipe book also includes instructions for dyeing yarn various colors and for making candles.
