1 folderThe collection consists of one volume, which includes both handwritten recipes and recipes clipped from newspapers. Most recipes in the volume are for cakes, pies, cookies, candy, and fudge. There is one recipe for pickles. Also included in the volume is a pamphlet entitled "A Message from the Parsonage," a typed poem by General Rupert Brooks, a British Naval officer in World War I, entitled "The Soldier," and a Valentine's Day card.
BIOGRAPHY
Godie (Couger) Servies was born in 1879 in Indiana. She was married to Voris B. Servies, a minister, in 1905. The couple had one child, Ellen Margaret (Servies) McCormack. Godie Servies died in 1953. Her husband died in 1958. They are both buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
