Koenig's narrative details her childhood memories of being in the kitchen watching her mother cook; her memories of taking Home Economics at Grady High School; and other personal stories intermeshed with the recipes.
BIOGRAPHY
Sharon Skott Koenig grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, part of a Jewish family. As a young housewife she lived in Cleveland, Ohio; the family later moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where Koenig began a catering business called Eppis Essen ("things to eat" in Yiddish).
