Collection consists of Elizabeth Reed Keller's diary written during her service as an American Red Cross staff assistant in Italy during World War II; a short typescript by her husband Staff Sergeant Phillips Brooks Keller about their experiences being separated on the ship that returned them to the United States from Italy after the war; a handwritten recipe and account book with note on cover, "Tyringham, Massachusetts, a member of the Garfield family ran a store, 1866"; and a United States Army Rest Center booklet of published photographs of the facility at the Mussolini Forum in Rome, Italy (1944-1945).

Portions of collection are available on microfilm (M-81, 1 reel, 35 mm.) from Schlesinger Library, Radcliffe Institute, Harvard Library, through interlibrary loan.

BIOGRAPHY

Elizabeth Reed Keller was an American Red Cross staff assistant in Italy during World War II.

The papers of Elizabeth Reed Keller were given to the Schlesinger Library by Elizabeth Reed Keller and Anne Witherby, in 1975 and 1976.
