Collections consists of a cookbook (handwritten in several hands) created by Elizabeth Shenk Dickey Fahnestock. Recipes include many desserts, claret punch, and calfs head soup. Many entries include notes such as "good" or "very good", as well as the name of the recipe's contributor; many recipes are from Annie Warfel. The cookbook also contains a clipping suggesting a menu for a six course quail dinner.

BIOGRAPHY

Elizabeth Shenk Dickey Fahnestock was born on December 2, 1840, to Christian Shenk and Maria Warfel Shenk in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Elizabeth Shenk Dickey Fahnestock was married to Return E. Fahnestock. She died on May 9, 1924, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
