The Record book of the Eaton family consists of handwritten notes; lists of stocks, bonds, and loans; household expenditures; recipes; and genealogical information, which includes birth, death and marriage dates of Eaton's parents, his wife Effie Eaton, and other family members. Also included are burial expenses for Eaton, most likely written by his son Alden; chemical formulas used in the preparation of cosmetics; an index; and a loose photograph of a young, unidentified girl, possibly Eaton's daughter Maxine.

BIOGRAPHY

Albert Ernest Eaton (1865-1943) was born in Ontario, Canada to Thomas and Ann (Dingle) Eaton. His parents were originally from England and immigrated to Ontario, Canada before permanently settling in the United States ca. 1886. In June of 1897 Eaton married Effie Jones (ca. 1868-1935) who was from Springfield, Missouri. The couple initially resided in Chicago, Illinois where their first child, Alden Louis Eaton (1898-1944), was born.

Eaton appears to have mainly worked as a traveling salesman for the cosmetics industry, but may have been involved in other business opportunities as well. His wife was a homemaker. Census records indicate that by 1910, they were living in Denver, Colorado in an extended family household, which included Eaton's parents, two of his siblings, Sara and Herbert, and their children. In 1908, Effie Eaton gave birth to their daughter Maxine. Albert Eaton's family later moved to Seattle, Washington where it appears he spent the remainder of his life.
