Collection consists of one volume mainly used as an autograph book and contains prose entries written by a number of friends and/or family members regarding religion, friendship, beauty, virtue, etc. While a few entries are signed and dated, many are only initialed or do not contain the names of their authors at all. Statements may be original, but it is suspected that some may have been copied from other sources. Several recipes for various types of cakes and breads are also included in the volume. Many pages are blank.

BIOGRAPHY

Lucy Brooks Harding was born in Harwich, Massachusetts, in 1792 to Ebenezer and Tamesin Brooks. In 1830 she married Eanock E. Harding, a farmer from Chatham, Massachusetts, and they eventually settled in Harwich. Lucy Brooks Harding died of palsy in Harwich, Massachusetts, in 1866.
