1 folderThis cookbook is recorded in a wire-bound notebook and includes a handwritten index at the front of the volume. The volume contains sections on breads, pickles, cakes, desserts, muffins, meats, sauces, fudge, doughnuts, cookies, drinks, seafood, and jelly. The recipes consist of handwritten entries, as well as typewritten index cards and clippings pasted into the volume. Several recipes have positive comments on them and one recipe for prune whip is crossed out with the comment "No Good." It is likely that this cookbook was begun after 1931 since it contains a recipe that includes Bisquick, a product that was introduced to the market in 1931.
BIOGRAPHY
This cookbook was likely created by an unidentified woman. It is possible that this woman lived in the area of New York City since the volume also includes an invitation to a reception featuring Hungarian pianist George Feyer at the Plaza Hotel who was active in New York City in the 1940s.
