Most material is related to the merger of Crittenton, Inc. (Crittenton Hastings House) and the Women's Educational and Industrial Union. Some material arrived at the Library grouped in plastic sleeves; this material was kept together. Folder tittles were created by the archivist.
HISTORY
Crittenton Women's Union was a nonprofit organization in Boston, Massachusetts, dedicated to assisting low-income women reach economic self-sufficiency. Crittenton Women's Union provided emergency and transitional housing, workforce development, and family support services. In addition, it conducted research and was involved in advocacy campaigns in order to further legislative solutions to end poverty for women and families. Crittenton Women's Union was formed in 2006 from the merger of two related Boston nonprofits, the Women's Educational and Industrial Union and the Crittenton Hastings House. In 2016, Crittenton Women's Union changed its name to Economic Mobility Pathways (EMPath).
