Collection includes Rossiter's Radcliffe College and graduate school notes, writings, professional correspondence, and committee work for professional organizations. The collection is primarily research files for the first two volumes of Women Scientists in America, which covered the history of American women in science until 1972.

Material was foldered and titled by Rossiter. Archivist notes are in brackets.

BIOGRAPHY

Historian of science and professor at Cornell University, Margaret W. Rossiter was born in 1944 and graduated from Radcliffe College (AB 1966), the University of Wisconsin-Madison (MS), and Yale University (M.Phil, Ph.D). Her early interest in the history of science led her to explore the systematic disadvantages facing women in the sciences. Her three-volume chronological work entitled Women Scientists in America was published in 1982, 1984, and 2012.
