Two volumes titled "Autopsy Protocols," one unaltered and the other inscribed by Harvard Medical School student W. B. Swift and containing Swift's notes on autopsies performed between October and December 1903 at several Boston hospitals.

Walter Babcock Swift (1869-1942),1898, Emerson College of Oratory (now Emerson College), Boston, Massachusetts; A.B. 1903, Harvard College, Cambridge, Massachusetts; S.B., 1906, Harvard College; M.D. 1907, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts; was a laryngologist and neurologist specializing in speech therapy and speech disorders such as stuttering. He was born in Geneva, Switzerland. He served as Director of a voice clinic in Boston State Hospital's Psychopathic Department was and known as a an advisor for speech therapy programs in public schools across the United States. Swift was a founder and president of the National Society for the Study and Correction of Speech Disorders, which existed from 1918 until 1939
Swift was identified as white in a 1920 census. In 1907 he married physician Edith Hale.
