Processing Information

Processed by Hanna Clutterbuck-Cook, 2016 May.

Staff at the Center for the History of Medicine refoldered and reboxed material and created a finding aid to increase researcher access. Folder titles were transcribed from original folders which were then discarded. Where the original folders had no title, an appropriate title was supplied according to Center practices. Material in 3-ring binders was removed from the binders and placed in folders. Where more than three copies of publications were found, three were retained and all others discarded. Audio-visual and electronic media was rehoused where necessary for preservation and have been collocated; they are indicated in their proper intellectual location in the folder list. Material from the latest accession, 2016-065, was grouped together at the end of the appropriate series; researchers should consult series notes for more details. Bound volumes have been physically collocated in Box 111 but are intellectually indicated where they appear in the folder list. Bound volumes that did not belong with the collection were given to the Rare Books Cataloger for processing; books already in the Countway collection were returned to Doctor Nadelson. Acronyms have been spelled out in the folder list where possible.
