Immediate Source of Acquisition

The Harvard Law School has no correspondence relating to a donor of this particular group of Sacco-Vanzetti papers, nor any reference as to dates when these papers were presented to the school. It has been suggested that the defense's papers were turned over to the school by the late professor Merrick Dodd, or by Fred H. Moore, counsel for the defense, and that the prosecution's papers were given to the school by Dudley P. Ranney, Assistant District Attorney.
