Contains materials documenting public debates and activism on women's health, rights, education, and suffrage in early 20th-century Russia. Published materials include pamphlets, monographs, journals, almanacs, organizational reports, and congress proceedings. Contains works by prominent Russian feminist activists, including Mariia Pokrovskaia and Praskov'ia Arian. Also contains four English-language PhD dissertations from the late twentieth century on topics pertaining to women in Russia and the Soviet Union.

Rochelle Goldberg Ruthchild is an American historian of Russian and Soviet women's and gender history.

Custodial History
The microfilm reproductions in this collection were gathered by Rochelle Ruthchild between 1966 and 2011 from 23 archival repositories in present-day Russia, Finland, England, Canada, the Netherlands, and the U.S.
