Scope and Contents
Contains accounts to Enoch Hobart from William Gamble, captain of the brig Dove, dated 1768-1770, primarily for disbursements on voyages to Barbados, Lisbon, and Liverpool, England, and receipts to Gamble from crew for wages. Included are payments to several unnamed black men for watching a load of lumber and ten days of work. There is also a charge for a payment Gamble made to Mr. Coombes "for the mulata viz. head money."
