Notes
Signatures (of letterpress): A-B⁴.
This is a copy issued subsequently to the printing of its various parts. Consists of a frontispiece, an engraved title-page, 8 letterpress leaves and 24 engraved samples (an ideal copy would probably consist of engraved samples 2-31). The engraved title-page was printed during Sparke's years as a publisher, 1630-1640. However, the plates, both numbered in the upper margins and lettered in the lower margins, are of a later date; the letters are engraved over earlier numbers which appear on copies with title imprint dates as late as 1648 and 1663.
Added engraved t.p. with portrait of Davies, dated 1631.
Plate 17(R) is signed: Fran. Ingheenram (?)
