- Account book maintained by Joseph Prince, of Boston, Massachusetts, recording his charges for outfitting ships and transactions related to trade and fishing voyages, from 1746 to 1754. He also contracted men to work on ships and paid for goods including wood, oil, sugar, flour, butter and pork. Prince recorded wages paid, workers names, tasks performed, and possibly hiring enslaved persons from their owners (see sequence numbers. 51, 52, 76, 101, 107, 118). Includes some personal accounts, such as payment to Abiah Holbrook for schooling Joseph Prince's daughter (see sequence number 76), and the amount he charged a boarder who came to live with his family. There are additionally diary entries recording smallpox inoculation, probably of his children, and a brief description of the progression of the disease after they were infected; and a report on the French and Indian War.

Prince outfitted ships prior to voyages and brokered trade of fish and commodities. He also was a founding member of the Boston Marine Society in 1742.
