Wade decision, and the Reagan era.

NARAL's web site is being captured periodically as part of Harvard University Library's Web Archive Collection (WAX).

History

NARAL is a national lobbying and membership organization which was devoted to obtaining, and later to maintaining, the availability of safe, legal abortions. The initials stood for the National Association for the Repeal of Abortion Laws from the organization's founding in 1969 until 1973, when the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade made abortion legal.
