BIOGRAPHY
Anna Howard Shaw, reformer, minister, and physician, became a lecturer for the Massachusetts State Suffrage Association in 1885. She worked closely with Susan B. Anthony and was vice-president-at-large of the National American Woman Suffrage Association (1892-1904) and president (1904-1915). Upon retirement as president in 1915 she was named honorary president for life. These papers of Anna Howard Shaw fill five folders of the Woman's Rights Collection, which was given to Radcliffe College in August 1943 and formed the nucleus of the Women's Archives, later the Schlesinger Library. The material in these folders was prepared for microfilming in May 1989 by Chris M. Ponticelli. It was microfilmed as part of a Schlesinger Library/University Publications of America project.
