Jane Norman Smith's papers center about the activities of the National Woman's Party of which she was chairman, 1927-1929, and its campaign for equality for women in all spheres of activities. Among Mrs. Smith's particular interests were industrial equality for women in New York and the investment of National Woman's Party funds. The bulk of the collection is correspondence and includes information about the 1947 lawsuits within the National Woman's Party, some material on other women's organizations, on international women's activities, and on suffrage in New York. There are also many National Woman's Party publications and 3 volumes of newspaper clippings re suffrage and equal rights.

BIOGRAPHY

Jane Norman Smith was chairman of the National Woman's Party from 1927 to 1929.
