Some of the material received from Hazzard was sent elsewhere: material on Jenny Brownscombe to the Archives of American Art, material on both Eliza Mosher and Amanda Sanford Hickey to the Bentley Historical Library at the University of Michigan, and Mary Beard letters to the Cornell University Library.
BIOGRAPHY
Florence (Woolsey) Hazzard, amateur historian, was born in 1903. She earned a PhD in psychology from Cornell University in 1929. While a graduate student, she married Albert S. Hazzard, a classmate during both high school and graduate school. Hazzard regarded the raising of their five children as her primary work, with history as her hobby.
