BIOGRAPHY
Grace Elizabeth Frysinger, daughter of George P. and Grace Caroline (Burrall) Fysinger, was born in Rockford, Illinois, on August 28, 1885. Shewas a graduate of the Oread Institute of Domestic Science and Art, Worcester, Massachusetts, Drexel Institute of Technology and took courses at the University of Chicago, the School of Cookery in London, England, and Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France. Frysinger served as Instructor at the School of Domestic Science and Arts, Chicago, Illinois (1906-21908), Director of Home Economics Department at Belmont College, Nashville, Tennessee (1909-1912); Director of Household Science at Des Moines, Iowa high school (1915-1916); Food Conservation Lecturer and Author in New York City (1916-1917); Senior Home Economist at the Extension Service, United States Department of Agriculture (1918-1945). She was the author of many United States Department of Agriculture reports and publications, including "Home Demonstration Work." Frysinger died March 1979.
