2.71 linear feet (6+1/2 file boxes)The papers form a report of the National Woman's Party's activity from 1921 to 1961. The main thrust of the National Woman's Party's work was directed towards passage of an Equal Rights Amendment to the United States Constitution. The National Woman's Party was also concerned with the issues of protective legislation, equality for working women, women and jury service and the international status of women. Alma Lutz aided the National Woman's Party in its national and international campaigns for women's equality by serving as a member of the party's National Council, as literature chairman and as contributing editor to the party organ EQUAL RIGHTS. Alma Lutz also participated in international conferences attended by the National Woman's Party as well as remaining an active member of the Massachusetts Branch of the party. The papers document Alma Lutz's contribution and the National Woman's Party's effort in the movement for the equality of women.

Repository Details
Part of the Schlesinger Library, Radcliffe Institute Repository
The preeminent research library on the history of women in the United States, the Schlesinger Library documents women's lives from the past and present for the future. In addition to its traditional strengths in the history of feminisms, women’s health, and women’s activism, the Schlesinger collections document the intersectional workings of race and ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and class in American history.
