This series documents Edmonds' work for Harvard University, including management of the Harvard Alumni Bulletin, work as a Harvard Overseer, and work on various Harvard committees.  Committees include the Visiting Committees to the English Dept. , to the Harvard University Press , and to the Harvard Forest .  Other committees include the Coordinating Committee on Biological Sciences , which was concerned particularly with the Arnold Arboretum .  Other material relates to the Signet Society .  Formats included are correspondence, memoranda, reports, and financial statements.  Correspondence from several Harvard University presidents is mostly congratulatory, consisting of birthday greetings and the like.

Biographical Note

Walter Dumaux Edmonds (1903-1998) earned his Harvard AB in 1926 and received an honorary degree in 1952; he was an author best known for Drums Along the Mohawk and other historical novels.  He also served the University as a Harvard Overseer (1944-1950) and President of the Harvard Alumni Bulletin.
