.08 linear feet (1 folder)Seventeen black-and-white photographs and one broadside printed in red and black. The photographs are stamped with “C.W. Godchaux of Attleboro, MA” and depict an all-female troupe in costume acting out the scenes from the play in the woods. The broadside lists the actresses and musicians in the production.
Biographical / Historical
House in the Pines was established in 1911 in Norton, Massachusetts. The school was founded by former Wheaton Seminary teacher Gertrude E. Cornish. It was a private school for girls in a large house east of Wheaton Seminary, offering secondary education and college preparatory programs.
