The collection is formed around the collector's research into W. H. Mallock. Recipients of Mallock's letters include William Morris Colles, Henry James Nicoll, C. N. Richardson, and Alexander D. O. (Alexander Dundas Ogilvy) Wedderburn. Also includes letters of Sir Max Beerbohm; S.N. Behrman; Randolph Caldecott; Richard Monckton Milnes, Lord Houghton; Aldous Huxley; C. P. Snow; and Charlotte Mary Yonge.

Biographical / Historical

W. H. Mallock was an English writer of novels, notably his satirical The new republic (1877), poetry, and prose on economics, philosophy, politics, and social welfare, including various provocative works on religion and faith. The collection also contains letters from other cultural figures and friends of collector Charles Nickerson.
