Includes four letters: one from Maria Fernández de Córdova y Aguilar to Ferdinand V, one from Ferdinand V to Miguel Pérez de Alamazán, one from Isabella to Juan II, King of Aragon, and one from Charles V to [Juan de la Cerda], Duke of Medina-Celi. The letter from Cordova to Ferdinand outlines his concerns regarding the Italian wars and the succession of Castile. Ferdinand's letter to Miguel Pérez de Alamazán inquires about the condition and location of various naval units. Charles V's letter concerns the treatment of guests received by the Duke of Medina-Celi.

Biographical / Historical

Ferdinand of Aragon and Isabella of Castille married in 1469 and became the King and Queen of Spain (1479-1504); their grandson Charles V was the King of Spain (1516-1556) and the Holy Roman Emperor (1517- 1556).
