Contains a twelfth-century manuscript on vellum in several unidentified hands of the biblical epigrams of Hildebert, the poem De gemellis attributed to Bernard of Chartres, as well as other anonymous poems and eulogies.

Biographical / Historical

Hildebert de Lavardin, archbishop of Tours, wrote numerous religious poems, including his better known "Roman Elegies." Bernard Sylvester of Chartres was a twelfth-century neoplatonic philosopher.

From the library of Amans-Alexis Monteil; interleaved and partially transcribed by Monteil. Offered for sale in Paris in 1836; not included in 1850 catalogue of Monteil's library.
