Includes letters from Lincoln to Samuel Austin Allibone, Robert Todd Lincoln, Caleb Blood Smith and Charles Sumner and others. There are Lincoln legal papers, proof sheets of his first inaugural address, 8 pencil and wash portraits of Lincoln by an unidentified artist, and printed materials concerning Lincoln, among other items. The collection also includes documents concerning the sale of enslaved people, particularly in Louisiana.
