Biographical / Historical
Elmo Arnold Robinson (1887-1972) was born in Portland, Maine, and graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1909, St. Lawrence University in 1912, and Stanford University in 1931. He was ordained to the Unitarian ministry in Watertown, New York, in 1912. He served parishes in Smithton, Pennsylvania; Henderson, New York; Anderson, Indiana; Plain City, Ohio; San Diego and Palo Alto, California; and Los Alamos, New Mexico. He served as director of the Northern California American Civil Liberties Union from 1926 to 1927 and was a professor of philosophy at San Jose (California) State College from 1928 to 1958.
