The papers of Lincoln Gordon cover a period from 1948-1961 with the bulk of these materials falling in the 1950s. The material documents the teaching activities of Gordon with special emphasis on international economic relations (ICR/IER cases). Also represented are administrative and government interests.

Biographical Note:

Abraham Lincoln Gordon was born in New York in 1913. He attended Harvard, graduating with high honors in 1933 and earned a PhD from Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar in 1936. He taught at Harvard Business School from 1946-1950 and was professor of international economic relations from 1955-1961. He resigned in 1961 to become the ambassador to Brazil under the Kennedy administration. He died near Washington D.C. in 2009.
